Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is basically a system for business management. Evolution of ERP system started from 1960s. At that time it was named as Inventory Control Packages (IC).

In the 70’s IC got further developed to Material Requirement Planning (MRP). It was used to calculate the meterials & elements needed in product manufacturing. MRP later emerged to Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) in the 80's.

The much widely used ERP system got developed during the 90’s ie the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Later on on the 2000’s Extended ERP got spread.
